Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome: Is It An Autoimmune Problem?

In today’s broadcast we will be discussing the new researching linking polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) to autoimmune disease.  PCOS is a multifactorial disorder with underlying causes of insulin resistance and or elevated adrenal production of DHEA. However, over the last four years scientists have been investigating the link between PCOS and the immune system, and now PCOS is being strongly linked to autoimmune thyroid diseases such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and other autoimmune conditions.
