Today we will be discussing scientific literature examining alterations in gastrointestinal bacteria for those with Autism Spectrum Disorders versus normal individuals. This was prompted by a Wall Street Journal article examining the powerful effects of gastrointestinal microbes on systemic diseases and health. This article received a letter to the editor refuting the relationship between gastrointestinal bacteria especially in its relation to autism.
