PHT 118: Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy: Gabapentin and Ketamine are not the only Solutions

Today’s broadcast is covering Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) or more specifically Complex Regional Pain Syndrome type 1 (CRPS-1). We will also discuss nerve related injuries classified as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome type 2 (CRPS-2) formerly known as causalgia.  Many patients with chronic unrelenting pain following trivial or significant trauma classified under these umbrellas feel dejected with a lack of acceptance regarding their condition as well as there being a lack of answers.  In today’s broadcast we will describe the mechanisms as to why RSD/CRPS occurs and discuss treatment options.
