PHT 082: Multiple Sclerosis: are probiotics, diet, and the intestinal barrier the new frontier?

Multiple Sclerosis can be a disabling disease, and though there are medications which can decrease the number of relapses and improve quality of life to a certain degree, there is no cure for the disease.  Scientists are constantly looking to what causes M.S., and new research is bringing focus back to the gastrointestinal tract, the bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract, diet, and how well the contents of our intestines are separated from the blood stream.  Please enjoy our broadcast.
