PHT Live – Am I Gluten Intolerant? Symptoms of Gluten Intolerance/Gluten Allergy

To Watch Live Hangout hit the play button

Today’s broadcast is on the highly controversial wheat protein, termed gluten.
Dr. Rutherford and Dr. Gates discuss the systemic manifestations of gluten intolerance.  They also explore the history of gluten related disorders, and the exploding research relative to gluten mediated immune responses as well as the new diagnostic category of non celiac gluten sensitivity.
Great emphasis is placed in the broadcast regarding neurologic diseases that may be completely or in part caused by gluten mediated mechanisms.  Dr. Hadjivassiliou is the one who deserves much of the credit for this, as his pioneering research has led to acceptance of his data within the neurology community.  Furthermore, the handbook of clinical neurology now has a chapter in it solely on gluten related neurologic disorders, written by none other than Dr. Hadjivassiliou.
